Gangadhara Rao, IPS, extensive awareness is being created about the services of the “Women Safety App”, launched by the Andhra Pradesh government for the protection of women and children. Women are being encouraged to download and utilize this app.Across the district, Shakti Teams and Women Police Station staff are explaining the benefits of the app at schools, colleges, commercial complexes, bus stands, railway stations, women’s hostels, and factories. They are ensuring that every woman downloads and makes use of the app.
Police personnel are assisting women in installing the Women Safety App on their phones and explaining its features through practical demonstrations.Additionally, awareness programs are being conducted in schools and colleges to educate women and girls about legal rights. These programs provide information on sexual harassment, self-defense techniques, and legal protections, aiming to instill courage and self-confidence among women.
