J365 NEWS, Machilipatnam: The Krishna-Guntur Graduate Constituency elections for the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council concluded peacefully in Machilipatnam. The elections were conducted under tight security, ensuring a smooth and incident-free polling process. The ballot boxes, containing the fate of the candidates, have been securely sealed, and the results will be announced in the coming days.

According to political analysts, the primary contest in the Krishna-Guntur graduate constituency was between Alapati Rajendra Prasad and K.S. Lakshman Rao. The election process, which began at 8:00 AM on Thursday, concluded at 4:00 PM. The voter turnout recorded by 4:00 PM stood at 68.02%.In Krishna district, a total of 63,114 graduates were eligible to vote, with approximately 15,000 of them registered in the district headquarters, Machilipatnam. The total number of votes cast across the district was 31,255, with 17,779 male voters and 13,476 female voters exercising their franchise.

Several prominent figures cast their votes in Machilipatnam. District Collector D.K. Balaji voted at Heini High School, while Bandaru Revenue Divisional Officer Swathi also cast her vote at the same location. Mines, Geology, and Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra exercised his franchise at Hindu College. Opposition leader Perni Kittu voted at Hindu College as well. PVR Mall owner Ram Niteesh cast his vote at St. Francis High School, while Bahujan Teachers Association Andhra Pradesh President C.H. Sharath Chandra voted at Heini High School. Similarly, Vemula Bhanu Susmitha exercised her voting right at St. Francis School.The ballot boxes containing the votes have been securely transferred to Noble College under strict security measures.
