A young nature lover from Telangana has made a mark on the global stage by securing a place in England’s Wonder Book of World Records, an achievement equivalent to the Guinness Book of Records. Recognized as the youngest child in the world under the concept Walk for Trees, he has been planting trees daily as a service to nature. Mooda Vishwamitra Chauhan, the son of BRS party leader Mooda Jayaram Naik from Housing Board Colony in Chunchupalli Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem district, has been passionate about the environment since childhood. He began planting trees daily at the age of three, starting on June 2, 2022. Now, at just five years and seven months old, he has planted 999 trees and distributed over 10,000 saplings. He not only plants trees in government offices and vacant spaces but also nurtures them by watering and caring for them regularly.
In recognition of his extraordinary dedication to environmental conservation, he received this prestigious record from Padma Shri awardee Vanajeevi Ramaiah and Wonder Book of World Records – India Coordinator Bingi Narender Goud. Vishwamitra Chauhan’s passion for nature stems from his understanding of the fundamental need for clean air, water, and food for human survival. While people can survive for days without food or water, they cannot live even for a minute without fresh air. Committed to planting trees as his life’s mission, he has now gained recognition not only at the district and state level but also internationally. His entry into the Wonder Book of World Records is a moment of pride for Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
Ministers, district officials, and environmentalists have lauded this young green warrior for his efforts. Beyond environmental conservation, he serves as an inspiration by voluntarily planting trees and promoting a greener future.
